Life Ledger is free to send death notifications

What you need

The deceased’s:
  • Date of Death
  • Full name and usual address
  • Death certificate or interim death certificate (scan or photograph)
From you:
  • A piece of photographic ID, such as a passport of driving licence, to upload and verify your identity. (scan or photograph)

How to Inform First Direct Bank of a Death

You can use one of the following methods to inform First Direct Banke of a death:

What information will you need to report a death to First Direct Bank?

First Direct Bank asks that you provide the following information:

formal confirmation of the death, such as an original or certified copy of the Death Certificate or the Coroner’s Certificate. In some cases, we may be able to obtain this from the General Registry Office without the need to see the certificate.
one form of identification and one form of address verification if a personal representative does not already bank with first dire
a fully completed Closure Form.  The personal representative who signs the Closure Form takes responsibility to distribute the balance of the deceased’s accounts
