What you need

The deceased’s:
  • Date of Death
  • Full name and usual address
  • Death certificate or interim death certificate (scan or photograph)
From you:
  • A piece of photographic ID, such as a passport of driving licence, to upload and verify your identity. (scan or photograph)

What information will you need to report a death to Earl Shilton Building Society?

To ensure a smooth process, try to have the following information on hand when notifying Earl Shilton Building Society of a death:

  • The name and contact details for all executors or administrators, including proof of identity
  • Relevant account passbooks
  • Original or certified copy of the Death Certificate
  • Letters of Administration, if applicable

What Happens Next?

Once you have notified Earl Shilton Building Society they will organise the rest. Joint accounts will automatically transfer to the surviving account holder. If the account was in a sole name, depending on the balance held and the documents obtained, they will administer funds to be released to the relevant parties and close the account.
