What you need
- Date of Death
- Full name and usual address
- Death certificate or interim death certificate (scan or photograph)
- A piece of photographic ID, such as a passport of driving licence, to upload and verify your identity. (scan or photograph)
How to Register a Death with M&S Insurance
You can use one of the following methods to inform M&S Insurance of a death:

What information is required to tell M&S Insurance of a bereavement?
You will need to have the following information to hand when telling M&S Insurance of a death
- Death Certificate
- Proof of Identity
- Deceased's details
- Your details
What Happens Next?
Once you have notified M&S Insurance of a death, they will contact you at a convenient time if extra information is needed. Additionally, if a home insurance policy has been in place in joint names, there will be an option to transfer the policy to the sole policyholder, if you wish to do so.
