What you need
- Date of Death
- Full name and usual address
- Death certificate or interim death certificate (scan or photograph)
- A piece of photographic ID, such as a passport of driving licence, to upload and verify your identity. (scan or photograph)
How to Report a Death to ANZ Bank
You can notify ANZ Bank of a death in one of two ways:

What information is required to tell ANZ Bank of a bereavement?
You will need the following information to tell ANZ Bank of a death:
- Death Certificate
- Will
What Happens Next?
Once you have notified ANZ Bank they’ll talk you through what your options are. They will take care of the rest in either closing the sole account or put the joint account in the surviving person’s name.
